Ring pricing: alarm monitoring, camera plans and total cost

Choose a Ring plan according to whether you need one camera’s recordings, coverage for devices at one location, or professional alarm monitoring. Compare the billing schedule as well as the equipment: an annual subscription and twelve monthly payments have different totals.

Equipment and setup

Ring’s U.S. alarm page currently lists the second-generation five-piece Alarm Security Kit at $199.99 and eight-piece kit at $249.99. The five-piece kit includes a base station, keypad, contact sensor, motion detector and range extender; it does not include a camera. These displayed offers can change. Check Ring’s current kits →

Price doorbells, cameras, extra sensors and mounting needs separately. Standard Alarm and Alarm Pro are different hardware products; the Ring Pro subscription name does not mean you own an Alarm Pro base station. Check the exact model and included devices in the cart.

Plans and billing

Current U.S. subscription prices, plus applicable tax. Annual amounts below are billed yearly; they are not monthly installments.

Ring’s U.S. plan comparison → lists supported devices, feature conditions and optional add-ons. Checked September 11, 2026: eligible 24/7 recording costs an additional $3/month per camera on the listed plans; eligible Ring Elite recording fees differ. That add-on is separate from event-video history. Ring Edge local recording requires Ring Alarm Pro, a microSD card and a compatible subscription. Video recording and professional alarm dispatch are different services; Solo or Multi camera coverage alone should not be described as alarm monitoring.

Without a subscription, basic camera live view and standard notifications can remain, but saved recordings and paid features do not. Alarm can be controlled with its keypad; remote app control and alarm alerts have subscription requirements for newer setups. Ring Alarm feature requirements →

Contract terms and cancellation

Ring subscriptions renew until canceled. Ring’s current instructions say to cancel through the Plan section of your ring.com account. Benefits continue through the billing period; the plan and add-ons then stop renewing. Subscription refunds are generally unavailable unless required by applicable law.

Three-year cost calculations

Using the currently displayed $199.99 five-piece kit, with no added cameras or accessories, produces these professional-monitoring examples:

The annual-billing example is $119.67 less over three years at these unchanged inputs. Annual payment is upfront, and cancellation/refund terms matter. Neither example guarantees future renewal prices; taxes and optional services are excluded.

For camera-only service, three annual Solo payments total $149.97 for one device; three annual Multi payments total $299.97 for one location. Add the actual camera purchase. These are not substitutes for the Ring Pro alarm-monitoring examples.

• Add each camera, doorbell and sensor your layout requires.
• Check the exact subscription for cellular backup, local storage, AI or continuous recording; some features need different hardware or add-ons.
• Include tax, permits and financing charges where applicable. Do not add the purchase price and the same equipment installments twice.

Who should consider Ring?

Consider Ring if you already use compatible Ring devices or want to compare camera recording and alarm monitoring within one product family. One-location coverage can simplify the comparison, but count every address and device you need to cover.

If you want subscription-free recording or compatibility with existing non-Ring hardware, verify the exact model and required service first. Choose the system for its documented capabilities, installation needs and full cost.

Ring pricing questions

Which Ring plan includes professional alarm monitoring?

Ring Pro includes professional monitoring for an eligible Ring alarm setup after enrollment. A camera subscription alone does not create an alarm system or activate emergency response.

Is Ring Pro cheaper with annual billing?

At the checked prices, twelve monthly payments total $239.88, compared with a $199.99 annual payment. That is $39.89 less per year, before tax, assuming unchanged prices. Annual billing is paid upfront.

Does one Ring plan cover multiple homes?

Multi and Pro coverage is for one location. Solo covers one eligible doorbell or camera. Confirm subscriptions for each address instead of assuming one account means one fee for every property.

Do I get a refund when I cancel Ring?

Ring’s current instructions generally exclude subscription refunds unless required by applicable law. Canceling stops the next renewal and benefits last through the current billing period. Download wanted recordings before canceling.
