  • Cove Connect Basic includes app control; the older Cove Simple Basic plan does not.
  • Plus lists seven days of camera cloud storage and a one-year equipment warranty. Premium lists 30 days and a lifetime equipment warranty, with cameras limited to two years.
  • The Cove Connect hub supports Ethernet with cellular backup. Confirm backup power and service requirements; alarm backup does not mean every camera will keep recording.
  • Professional installation is an option through HelloTech, even though Cove is designed for DIY setup.

Before signing: service terms and equipment balances

Cove

  • Cove says Value customers who own equipment outright can cancel without penalties after the 60-day return window.
  • A financed equipment purchase can leave a balance even when monitoring has no long-term commitment.
  • Older Economy agreements can require the remaining equipment balance if canceled before 36 months. That is a legacy Cove Simple arrangement, not a current monitoring tier.

ADT

  • ADT Blu advertises no long-term service contract; check the plan and equipment-purchase terms.
  • Some advertised Pro Install offers require 36 months of service, or 24 months in California.
  • Those offer terms say a charge of 75% of the remaining initial-term service charges may apply on early termination. Ask for the actual written amount due, plus any separate equipment balance.

Can I get ADT without a long-term contract? +
Yes. ADT currently offers ADT Blu as a DIY route without a long-term service contract.
