Ask whether you need event clips or every minute
A camera can retain clips for weeks without recording continuously. Decide whether you need to replay an alert or scroll back through a quiet period when nothing triggered an alert.
Ring: 24/7 recording requires a listed compatible camera, continuous power, internet, a Ring Protect plan and a per-camera add-on. Ring lists $3/month per eligible standard camera; Ring Elite models have separate prices. Continuous footage stays in the cloud for up to 14 days, versus up to 180 days for motion-event videos. It does not work with Ring Edge local storage or end-to-end encryption enabled. Check the current eligible-model list before choosing a camera or doorbell.
Cove: the Home Cam setup guide describes stored clips and optional local storage. Its phrase about continuous storage explains a rolling seven-day history; it does not establish continuous 24/7 capture.

Start with the service you need. Cove Basic is the alarm-first example; Plus is shown separately because its plan lists camera support. Ring Pro combines eligible alarm monitoring and camera recording. The packages differ, so compare their included functions as well as these service charges.

The annual Ring example is three prepaid one-year terms. Adding standard 24/7 recording to one eligible Ring camera would add $108 over 36 months at $3/month. Cameras and other equipment are still separate purchases.
Add the actual equipment quote, installation, tax, permits and financing charges. Cove also publishes a $3 credit-card payment fee and an ACH alternative; confirm whether that fee applies to your account. The table excludes payment fees and promotional offers. Rates can change. Check the exit before choosing the entry price
Cove's published terms require a verbal cancellation request at least 30 days before the next billing date to avoid another automatic payment. An equipment or financing balance is separate.
