SimpliSafe setup

SimpliSafe's own materials describe a guided DIY setup process using its companion app. We have not timed a setup, measured pairing reliability, or published firsthand onboarding notes. Setup experience is pending hands-on verification.

ADT Blu setup

ADT Blu is set up through the ADT+ app. ADT describes its kits as self-installed and says most systems can be set up in under an hour. We have not verified that timing. Existing equipment and support pages may still use the ADT Self Setup name.

Bottom line on setup: If minimizing setup steps is your priority, SimpliSafe's documented process is the simpler of the two on paper. ADT Blu involves account and device configuration in the ADT+ app. We have not measured either, so treat both as manufacturer-described, not tested.
